Here we reached Mather Point a little after the sun had already risen. It's ok, we are through with the anticipatory wait. It's the colors that count. We were late because we had to have some nice breakfast :-) Sun rising. And rising. Notice that they now have an even thicker sleeping back with them! Warm, ladies? Bright and sunny, no clouds today Quite beautiful, really. A bit sad to leave it. Serene Look at that rock, waiting to be swept away into the chasm below. Ray of light. Another cliff jutting out. People were talking about hiking to the river below. They said that it was not only warmer but a different beauty you can't find up here. So next time I return I will be hiking down, camping, and admiring from below. Down there you will find granite a billion years old, uncovered by the colorado river that cut through all these sedimentary rocks. The sky is peaceful Time to leave this immense beauty. Till next time, whenever that is, will be a surprise. I wonder with whom I will be then.
