Huacachina desert - Buggys and sand surfing

Text written in: English

We got to Ica after taking a bus from Trujillo to Lima, after getting to Lima we wondered around the city to find a company that goes to Ica. in Lima there isn't a central terminal but instead each company have it's own station. we had to carry all of our equipment from one terminal to the next until we got the some company that had  avilable seats. we got to Ica (which looked like another peruvian city) and the next thing we wanted to do is to get to the famous Huacachina desert (where all the famous attractions are) we took a small 3 wheel taxi for Huacachina desert.

we got to Huacachina and i quickly realized the the peruvians are geniuses in creating attractions, Huacachina is a desert which has huge dunes of sand. at some part between the dunes there are few hostals and in the center there's a small lake (which i think is artificial but i'm not sure). there's only 1 internet place (ofcourse) and 3-4 restaurents so you don't have much choise, the prices obviously are expensive (in peruvian standards). we ordered the famous buggy tour for tomorrow and we found a cheap room (becouse the shower didn't have any warm water but the owner said he has another shower with warm water that we can use). we spent the rest of the day for resting after the long bus ride.

the next day we woke up and headed off for Ica (the city) to do arrangements. we found the local market which had the same usual things that you can see in any local peruvian market but there was this another thing that i don't know his name, it was shaped like a small ball made from flour and it looked like a mini doughnut, we bought 5 for each one of us, the guide who sell them covered it with honey. it was so good even that it was so simple.

we got back to the hostal and the left for the buggy and sand surfing tour, 8 persons in each buggy. after 2 minutes on the buggy we had a flat tire in the desert, the driver called for 'backup' and 5 minutes later 2 guys came on a bike and changed the wheel of the buggy faster then a Formula 1 crew. we continued for a CRAZY ride on the buggy that got some screams out from people, we stopped every once in a while for some sand surfing which started in small dune and later finished on really high dune. the bigger the dune is the harder you fall (and i heard from so many people who got injured in this place that i should be careful). i chose to try sand surfing standing up even that i heard the stories. in the first 3 small dunes everything was good and i didn't fall down but in the next few big ones i falt down really hard, it was quite painful. Uzi choose the safe way and he did the surfing by sitting on the board. the driver even gave us the lost time (of the flat tire), it was so much fun. we got back to the hostal happy and satisfied. we ate dinner in the hostal (even that it was pricy) and later we went to sleep, tomorrow we leave for Nazca.
