From Russia with love

Well after our crazy trek on the train which I will write more about we got off the train to lovely sunshine and a driver that only spoke Russian to us.  I think he did take pity on us though as he turned on a radio station that played english songs!

We arrived at the hotel after about half an hour driving from the train station.  The room 'business class' is better than the 70's throwback of a state in Irkutsk - anyway we headed down to the restaurant for some food and as usual we were not that adventurous and had pasta.  We has just finished said pasta when a bottle of champagne arrived at our table.....there is a greater story linked to this so I will wait to write it!!

So anyway our first night of a train was enjoyed but tomorrow we head out to the city x
