It's so good to be home, but I sure do miss my kids. And I miss hearing the daily chant called, "today is the day." Here it goes:
"Today is the day I do my best at reading, writing, math and all the rest. I'm safe and honest, show responsibility, and I treat people how I want them to treat me. I make good choices and I think things out, cuz being proud of me is what it's all about. Work hard, play fair, have a great day!" Then the principal or vice-principal gets on the P.A. and says, "be safe, be respectful, be responsible, and most of all HAVE FUN LEARNING!"
It's really cute, all the kids know it by heart, and now so do I. It's the perfect inspirational thing to get you in the right mood every morning. It's weird not hearing/saying that every day. It's also weird not having to stand and say the pledge of allegiance, though I thought I was done with that a long time ago.
And that's all for now. I go back on the 2nd, though school only restarts on the 7th. So we have two workdays that we'll be doing a random project that has nothing to do with schools, which is exciting too.
