back in business, sort of...

Text written in: English

Well I made it back to Sacramento with no problems, I was even pleasantly surprised that I got two different kinds of cereal on my two flights (Cheerios to Houston and Honey Nut Chex to Sacramento). It was a happy day for me-air travel wise. It was great to see my team again, I did really miss them.

Thursday we went to a Boys and Girls Club and hung out with kids for eight hours. I was pretty dissapointed that we weren't doing something random and different, and it was so unstructured that the time seemed to drag on. The only good thing was that my fiance was there, Javon, the 7 year old who was in love with me. He did not forget about me and quickly attached himself to my hip. It was adorable. He told me that the necklace he gave me (the one from Pretty Pretty Princesses), was handmade. I even asked him how he made it. He said he took a long string and put the beads on and then tied it off at the end. Adorable. He asked me how he would find me when he turned 18, because of course he still wants to marry me. I told him I'd give him my address the next day.

Unfortunately for him, we drove in the torrential downpour, past two trees on the road, and when we got to the B&GC, they told us they were closed for the day. We couldn't get another assignment quick enough, so randomly, even though it was only rain -we got a snow day. We came back to base only to learn that the power was out, so we played board games for a while. Then we decided to have some nice clean fun and play tackle football out on the muddy swampy field. I was apprehensive at first, not wanting to get the ball or fall or anything, but after a few plays I got right in the action. My worst fall was when I was spun around and landed in a HUGE puddle on my face. We were soaked and disgusting by the time the game was done, about an hour and a half later, but it was such an amazingly good time.

We cleaned ourselves up and went out to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. It is in such a nice building with such low prices, we had a blast.

Today we watched movies, that's pretty much all there is to do anymore. And then went out bowling. We go back to work on Monday, I'm pretty excited to finally go back. I miss my kids so much.

There's a bit of drama going on with my team, but we're handling it tomorrow. And I heard rumors that A. there is no way we're going to be allowed to go to New Orleans (not meaning the entire gulf coast, just the city of nola) because we're all psychotic alcoholics and B. that no matter where we are in April we HAVE to come back to Sacramento-which makes it more convenient to plan a trip but also way more expensive than a bigger airport. But I absolutely love my team and I'm having a blast, so it's all good in the long run. And that's it for now.
