We were told that we couldn't drive all the way to New Mexico and stay there overnight. (We're only allowed 9 hours of driving a day or something like that). So we got a hotel in El Paso, but still ended up going to the White Sands National Park, an hour and a half away, each way. Whatever it takes, right?
Well, this park was beautiful. Lauren talked a worker into letting us borrow two sledding discs (they are normally $13 and if you return them you get $5 back, but we were planning on staying after they closed the shop, and what do we need to keep sledding discs for?). Then we headed out to the dunes. It was pretty awesome. Everywhere you looked there were dunes of white sand. We climbed a tall and steep one and slid down a few times, then Seth and I went walking and climbed a bunch more. Then we rolled down one, that made us quite dizzy. Overall it was a fun time, and completely beautiful.
